Coinciding with the "Centennial Celebration," Cairo University’s Faculty of Science Launches the Fourth Issue of Culture and Science Magazine
As part of the exceptional events marking the Centennial Celebration of the Faculty of Science at Cairo University, commemorating one hundred years since its establishment (1925–2025/2026), the Faculty has announced the publication of the fourth issue of its periodical magazine, Culture and Science. This special edition celebrates a century of scientific excellence and intellectual contribution by one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in the Middle East.
The new issue reflects the magazine’s mission of bridging the gap between science and society while showcasing the Faculty’s most significant academic and research achievements. It highlights the accomplishments of its distinguished scientists and researchers, whose contributions have helped shape the landscape of scientific research both regionally and internationally.
Highlights of the Fourth Issue
Faculty Centennial Special Feature: A comprehensive documentary review of the Faculty’s 100-year journey of excellence, highlighting its history, foundation, and the distinguished scholars whose pioneering work has earned global recognition.
Faculty Achievements: Scientific articles and opinion pieces by leading Faculty members addressing contemporary topics, including artificial intelligence and its applications in the basic sciences, as well as climate change and related challenges.
Achievements and Innovations: Exclusive interviews with researchers whose work has been published in leading international scientific journals during the current year, along with a showcase of innovative projects by young researchers and students.
Questions and Insights: Informative articles exploring important scientific issues, such as the impact of solar storms on the Earth's atmosphere and pressing environmental concerns affecting the planet.
Future Perspectives: Thought-provoking reflections on a wide range of significant scientific and societal topics.
Professor Soheir Ramadan Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty of Science, stated that launching this issue during the Faculty’s Centennial Celebration reaffirms its enduring commitment to its educational, scientific, and cultural mission. She emphasized that the magazine aims not only to disseminate scientific knowledge but also to enrich intellectual discourse and inspire future generations to pursue research, innovation, and discovery.
For her part, Professor Tay El-Sayed, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, noted that the fourth issue features a rich diversity of scientific and intellectual content and has been prepared according to modern journalistic and media standards, making scientific knowledge more accessible to a broader audience both within and beyond the University.
The Culture and Science magazine will be available in print at the Faculty of Science, while a digital PDF edition will also be accessible through the Faculty of Science's official website and its social media platforms, ensuring broad access for researchers, students, and all those interested in science.
