Prof. Dr. Soheir Ramadan Fahmy serves as Dean of the Faculty of Science, Cairo University. With a distinguished academic career spanning research, teaching, and institutional leadership, she is committed to advancing the Faculty's mission of scientific excellence and societal impact.

It is a privilege to address you through the official platform of the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, one of the region’s most established scientific institutions, with a long-standing legacy of academic excellence, research distinction, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge both nationally and internationally.
Faculty of Science continues to move forward with a clear institutional vision grounded in the principles of sound governance, transparency, integrity, and accountability. These principles are not simply administrative values; they are the foundation upon which we build trust, ensure fairness, and create an environment that enables academic and research excellence to flourish. Our commitment is to a well-structured and efficient academic system that upholds standards, supports merit, and guarantees equal opportunity for all members of our community.
In a rapidly evolving global scientific landscape, we are dedicated to continuous development and modernization of the academic programs, research directions, and institutional practices. 1. Completed specialized training programs aimed at enhancing and improving the educational process, including:
* Program and Course Specification, offered by the University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.
* Academic Standards for Academic Programs, offered by the University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.
* Institutional Self-Study and Annual Reporting, offered by the University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.
* Research Ethics, provided by DAAD.
* Preparation of Interactive Lectures, provided by DAAD.
* Professional Trainer Program, provided by FLDC.
2. Membership in committees related to the educational process:
* Member of the Department Timetable Committee and Student Affairs Committee.
* Member of the Faculty Academic Advising Committee.
* Member of the Department Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee.
* Member of the Department Postgraduate Studies Committee.
* Member of the Faculty E-Learning Courses Implementation Committee.
3. Participated in the preparation and administration of theoretical and practical examinations.
4. Updated and developed the theoretical content of Course Z451 for departmental students.
5. Modernized the practical component of Course Z451 according to the latest international standards.
6. Collaborated with Al Borg, Al Mokhtabar, and Al Safa Laboratories to provide field training for students enrolled in Course Z451.
7. Supervised the Research and Essay Course for fourth-year departmental students.
8. Supervised 26 Master's theses and 9 Ph.D. dissertations.
9. In 2011, actively participated in establishing the first Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to educate students and researchers on the ethical considerations of laboratory animal use.
10. Participated in the Third Young Researchers Forum, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, in 2013.
11. In 2014, actively contributed to updating the Biotechnology Program regulations by introducing courses in Research Ethics and Biosafety.
12. In 2019, established a student research team comprising third- and fourth-year students to develop their research skills and encourage active participation in scientific research, resulting in the publication of numerous research papers.
13. Recipient of Cairo University International Publication Awards continuously from 2011 to the present.
14. Since assuming the position of Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, I have been committed to preparing joint activity plans with the Faculty Education and Student Affairs Sector (copy attached), focusing on students' social development and promoting community engagement.
15. Participated in the First Sustainable Development Forum, held at Ibn Sina Hall, Faculty of Science, in November 2001.
16. Organized a public seminar entitled “Patents and Their Role in the Scientific and Economic Protection and Development of Research” in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology on December 9, 2019.
17. Organized a technical workshop entitled “Shampoo Manufacturing Using Natural Oils” on December 10, 2019, as part of the "Sanaye'eya Misr" Initiative activities at the Faculty.
18. Served as a judge for projects presented at the Giza Science and Technology Fair held at El-Saidiya School, Giza, on February 9, 2020.
19. Organized the Second Cairo Science Alumni Forum, entitled “Real Success Stories of Cairo Science Alumni,” at Ibn Sina Hall on February 13, 2020.
20. Organized the “My Country's Nature Reserves Exhibition” in collaboration with the Department of Zoology on February 13, 2020, to introduce university students to Egypt’s natural reserves.
21. Participated in charitable clothing exhibitions organized at the Faculty in 2019 and 2020.
22. Organized an online workshop entitled “CV Writing Skills and the Competencies Required in the Job Market” on May 20, 2020.
23. Organized the First Cairo Science Alumni Forum under the title “Career Opportunities Available for Cairo Science Graduates” on March 14, 2019, at Ibn Sina Hall, Faculty of Science, Cairo University.
24. On June 1, 2020, launched an online student competition celebrating World Mathematics Day, featuring awards for the best poster and best video on applications of mathematics in various fields of life.
25. Organized an online workshop entitled “Job Market Skills” on June 19, 2020, covering:
* Everything You Need to Know About LinkedIn.
* Teamwork Skills.
* Problem-Solving Skills.
26. Developed a specialized training course in Laboratory Animal Science:
* Prepared course models and lectures in accordance with international guidelines and standards.
* Applied for accreditation from FELASA (Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations).
* Currently organize and deliver training programs in Laboratory Animal Science for students and graduates of the Faculties of Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy.
